Tell them what it was, roughly how much, and how long ago. Lovefed is a reference tool, not an emergency service.

Email hello@lovefed.app

One person reads it. Expect a reply within a couple of days, usually sooner. There is no phone line and no chat widget, because there is no support team to staff them — saying so is more useful than pretending otherwise.

A food or ingredient is missing

This is the most useful thing you can report, and Lovefed has somewhere to put it. When a search finds nothing, the app offers to add it to a list kept on your phone. The list sits in About, and when you are ready you can send the whole thing in one go.

Nothing is collected automatically. The app does not record what you search for, and the list goes nowhere until you choose to send it.

Why is a food I expected not there?

Often it is listed under another name. The search knows a good number of them — birch sugar finds xylitol, courgette finds zucchini, Advil finds ibuprofen — and it tolerates a misspelling, so avacado still finds avocado.

Made dishes are deliberately absent. A shepherd's pie will never be in a food list, but onion, garlic and the rest of it are. Put the ingredients into the Scanner and it answers for the whole dish.

The barcode scanner did not recognise my bag

Barcode lookups come from Open Pet Food Facts, a community-maintained open database that Lovefed does not control. Plenty of products are not in it, especially in the US. When that happens, type or paste the ingredient list instead — that path reads the same data and does not depend on the product being catalogued.

Answers look wrong for my pet

Check what is set in My pets. Breed, health conditions and allergies all change the answer, and an allergy overrides everything else — if a food is marked "don't feed" with no obvious reason, an allergy is usually why. If you still think an answer is wrong, email it. Include the food, the species, and what the app said. Corrections are taken seriously, and a wrong answer gets fixed ahead of anything else on the list.

Your data, and deleting it

There is no account, so there is nothing of yours on any server to delete. Pets, reminders and the missing-food list live on your phone. Deleting the app removes all of it. The privacy policy has the detail.

Lovefed is not veterinary advice and cannot examine your animal. Your vet can.
